Aikido
Considered to be one of the internal arts, Aikido's main emphasis is on spherical motion and pure technique. Training primarily involves joint locking and throwing techniques, which are used to redirect and control an opponent's aggressive force.
Many techniques used in empty-hand Aikido are derived from the use of certain weapons. Jojutsu (short-staff techniques), Kenjutsu (sword techniques), and Yarijutsu (spear techniques) are also a part of Aikido training at the Asian Martial Arts Studio. The Aikido student strives for harmony, following a philosophy of non-contention. They blend with attacks to render their opponents harmless.
