Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient form of internal Chinese martial arts. It is based on the Chinese philosophy of Yin Yang, the balancing of positive and negative energies found in nature. The motions of Tai Chi Chuan are circular, smooth, and flowing. Basic movements are generally practiced very slowly, emphasizing concentration and relaxation. A variety of two-person drills are taught, allowing the student to understand the correct applications and flow of the techniques. Students will learn in a progressive fashion from experienced and specially trained teachers.
In China, Tai Chi Chuan is practiced by the elderly on a regular basis for health and longevity. In general, Tai Chi Chuan is ideally suited to students of all ages interested in developing balance, internal strength, and good health.
